Z1R inner tubes

Hi all
In the parts book and manual it says I should fit inner tubes in the tyres on my Z1R, did they find the wheels are porous or is there another reason for this.

Sorry guys just seen that the rear wheel has got two bead clamps so would have to have a tube. I’ll put one in the front as well, I guess this might effect my tyre choice.

Hi Peter;

There are different rim profiles on alloy bike wheels - one for tubeless tyres, one for tubed. The Z1R rims are not profiled to hold a tubeless tyre securely, so tubes are needed to keep all that lovely air inside. You don't need a tyre specifically designed for tubes - you can run 'tubeless' tyres quite happily as long as you stick a tube in there as well, so tyre choice isn't an issue. I've run Bridgestone BT45s on mine quite happily for ages; Avon Roadriders also get a good press. Hope this helps!
