Brake fluid hose

#1 PostAuthor: redzee » Thu May 15, 2025 5:24 pm

Hi,
Z1000J/GPz1100/Z1000R.
Rear brake master cylinder to piston rubber hose (non pressurised). I need to replace mine as I have to disassemble the master cylinder from it to fit new spring. Can't pull it off, and don't want to cut it off as NLA from Kawasaki (part number 43059-1096). Anyone know it's size (bore) and/or an alternative source please?
Cheers

Hi Col,
I managed to get a hose and the outer protective coil only a few years ago. I will measure it tomorrow. If it is no longer available, it could be worth checking if they revised the part no.some times this happens, perhaps because a newer bike has same part? The rear ms set up is very common so. For the same hose, or perhaps get a slightly longer one of a different model. I know I managed to get a hose from either a KLR or a gpz550 and cut to fit the other. I’m sure Phil and Co in ZPower can help also. I will also measure The lengths on the other few models I have. That might showa suitable alternative

I had a look at the bikes I have access to. The 1000and 1100r appear to be about 130mm long. the GPZ1100, 750 turbo and 550 unitracs all appear to be 140mm. I didn't detach any of them but they appear the same diameter. you might not even need to trim the extra 10mm but it shouldn't be an issue if you do.
