Can anyone confirm how many different types of Mikuni BS34 Carbs there are for 1981 KZ1000 ?

Thanks

I can only imagine there is one type for KZ1000 for 1981 there being only two bikes that fit that description; J models and customs.
That said, there are slight differences across the 'series' like different top caps, polished or otherwise float bowls and of course different jetting and anti tamper caps for different world market sectors.
There are though, two main types as far as i know; those with coasting enrichener bodies and those without.
You need to be more specific in your question in order to give it a fair answer. KZ referring specifically to the US market variety for example.

Thanks Al,

So it looks like there are 2 different types and designs of carbs but with the same name / reference (BS34).

My 1981 KZ1000 CSR has BS34's without coasting enricher diaphragms, but when I search BS34 on Google it shows images of them with and without them.
Its unusual for any manufacturer to give any component a name or reference for 2 completely different designs of products ?
Never known that before ?
