Does anyone know if you can buy the advance & retard springs separate to the unit? I've got a bike here with lazy springs impacting the idle.

Hello DogsbolloxofZ1B, the springs arew not available from Kawasaki, you hve to order the auto advance unit as a complete assembly, which as its often just a broken or saggy spring is a shame, Regards, Steve

One of the members did put instructions of how to make up new springs, in relation to wire gauge, etc so that a new spring would have similar performance characteristics (ie: same springiness :shock: ).
It was a good year or so ago, but I can't find it now :evil:
And on the 7th day... Zeds were created!

Take one of your springs down to a spring maker. They should be able to match the wire guage, type, and length.

Use a strobe to check the advance characteristics when they are fitted.
