Engine Stand

#1 PostAuthor: HowieD » Thu Jul 03, 2008 10:06 am

aye up,

I need to take my engine out to do stuff to the frame but don't want the engine rolling around balanced on the oil drain plug - any ideas for an engine stand?

Regards

A small wooden pallet will keep your motor off the ground.
A square metal frame with wheels on lets you move the motor about easily.
Maybe Machine Mart sell something suitable :?:

As a good start, make up a small rectangular wooden frame with 2" x 4" which fits around the outer edge of the sump
If you got some scrap tubing & a welder, you could make a 'proper job' stand :P
And on the 7th day... Zeds were created!

Can I be the first in the queue to see you lift the whole engine out the frame up into the Asda trolley then back out again. Only Fer can do that after a packet of his special bikkies i'm told.

Ah well erm !
I have a Harris so I'll just lift the whole bike onto the trolley and then unbolt and lift the frame off!

you can come and watch tho - as long as you don't tell anyone on facebook as I don't have a pool for them to trash!
