Bead Blasting

#1 PostAuthor: Steve R » Mon Aug 04, 2008 10:45 pm

Picked up the head and barrels at the weekend; amongst other things they have been bead blasted. I am a bit concerned that although the gasket surface on the head is flat and smooth, on the barrels the gasket surface has been bead blasted and is not therefor smooth but rough, is this Ok will the gasket still seal ok? Is this normal?

It will probably seal better, though I must admit I would have masked mating faces etc.

i always mask up the faces with tank tape before bead/vapour blasting and fill the inlet/exhausy ports with silicon
