I would go along with that to some degree, that cut in the tyre certainly suggests it’s take a hit of some sort but the fact it’s directly in line with the spoke might have saved it compared with a bash between two spokes. Certainly worth having it crack tested and checked for true but I’m sort assuming that would be done anyway in a refurb...

Thanks for the solid advice lads.
I know for a fact that mark is a stab mark not a pinch mark! :eek The Valve broke in the stem...
But all good, relevant advice all the same, I don't know if the chip was impact or tyre removal but I agree there is no point throwing good money after bad if its knackered. I would have to check but I think the front is a 19 and the rear an 18". I would appreciate a look Gus if you have wheels. Has anyone suggestions on getting the wheel x-rayed? I haven't looked into this. I would need to work out if its feasible to send off to be checked as opposed to straight replacement. I presume I can check for straight by setting it up and spinning it? or would a dial gauge be required?

Sorry. My bad

Got them out of the shed and the rear one is off an earlier model.

Here is the front, it has some red paint underneath so may have been off a GPZ.
