Re: Looking for a project
As nice as the upside down forks and monoshock sanctury style etc is they just don't quite look right to me. If modding I like bikes which have the period correct mods personally. Keeping the mods to that which could have been done back then kinda keeps the bike as a whole rather than a now and then affair.

The A1A2 hangers are unique to those bikes because Kawasaki must have realised they look shite and didn't make the same mistake again. Also they rot inside....

All so very true, the Z1 exhaust hangers worked grand, so did the Z900 and the Ltd and the Z1r , those rust prone upside down rabbit ears were a bad idea from the start and rust off in rain any soaked countries but...thats what makes them unique.

So that’s why you have to be careful what you replace them with - it’s not always done properly

To be fair they look worse left on a modded bike than they do on one with standard pipes…

So im not selling the rabbit ears then, to be honest iv taken them off a frame of my own but the were rotted off anyways for being out in the rain, the trick is to sand the weld seam on the front and back but no touching the frame with a flap disk till the near fall off, then put them in a box for safe keeping...
