Z900 Alternative Carbs

#1 PostAuthor: Gordon Wilkinson » Sun Jun 14, 2009 10:47 pm

Hi all,

Was just wondering if anyone has any experience or suggestions as to which carbs might fit and work on an otherwise standard Z900 engine. There's not going to be an airbox fitted to the bike, just individual K&N filters.

I realise it's going to be "suck it and see" as far as jetting is concerned.

If anyone's done this sort of work, I'd be really grateful for any advice.

Cheers guys.

Gordon.

Thanks for that Paul, I kind of suspected the GS ones would fit & do the job.

I also wondered whether CV's off a GT750 or suchlike might also work? Have to be an earlier model tho', don't want to have to faf around with carb heating etc!

Cheers,

Gordon.

Z1-R carbs if you can get them are okay - pretty much identical but they're 28s so a bit better. Cvs off a J or 1000R work well Fer has a set on one of his earlier type Z1000s
