i have read that longer travel shocks improve handling. does anyone have any info on this or theory?
why did the racers lay down the shocks at the top, by changing the upper mounts?

I bolted a set of Koni's with progressivley wound springs on them and ajustable preload back in 86 or 87, well somewhere in that range anyhow and I ain't looked back yet. Those and Progressive Suspension fork springs with 20 weight PJ1 fork oil. Works a charm for any riding I have ever done. I supose I will wear out those shocks someday
