MKII starter clutch

#1 PostAuthor: ARCHIE » Sat Feb 27, 2010 10:04 pm

Does anyone know why i have to rebuild my starter clutch a second time in 12 months. I gave it the once over when i rebuilt the engine last year changing the springs etc everything looked fine. After that it worked ok for 6 to 8 months and now back to square one with the rumbling noise and catching rarly. Does this sound fimiliar to anyone.
Thanks Archie

Check the starter gear , if this is worn where the clutch rollers run on it they will not engage properly .
