Good re-bore needed

#1 PostAuthor: Al » Sat Mar 10, 2012 8:16 pm

I am trying to get a set of unitrack barrels rebored to 1170 which is 2.5mm over.

I cant get anyone around here to do it for love nor money.
I need someone who has a proper re-bore setup not a converted Black and Decker.

Only bloke who said he would said it would take two days with his machine because he can only do 0.5 mm at a time and then has to let it cool down for an hour. Thats five passes at 20 mins each times four bores with and hour between each pass.

The other guy has a hand drill that hangs from the garage roof on a bungy cord and he manually passes it up and down to hone.

The others i have spoken to say that they only do car stuff these days!!!!

Anyone know of a professional in the Hants / Surrey / Berks area who could get it done please.

Many thanks in anticipation.

These peeps are in Oxfordshire but you could courier the parts if you didn't fancy making the trip.

Al, as Crofty says, send it to Ray. It certainly won't be the cheapest option, but you know it will be done right.

Have you tried BIC CC in Wokingham.

They do ridiculous engine work and knock out 700BHP+ bikes.

Pretty sure a straightforward rebore wouldn't phase them.

Sorry, have no idea of cost.

SERDI UK LTD in Uxbridge is who I use. They have a very high precision line boring rig and have done dozens for me.

Yes Big CC , they used to do a lot of stuff with Zeds but lately concentrate on Hyabusas ,but will still take the work.
