Consulting the KZ1000J parts book on web shows the fork seals as part 92049 1295. When duly arrived from dealer these parts are way to big, being 55MM ext, 42MM int and 10MM deep. My forks seem to take 50MM X 38MM X8MM. Any idea why and if so what the correct OEM part number might be? The dealer seems as mystified as me. My forks are Kayaba, were the Showa different and might the larger size refer to them?

The Z1000J has got 38mm Kayaba forks.I use Vesrah fork seals as they are OEM suppliers. The fork seals are the same as early GPz900 so they should be readily available. Not sure how you got 42mm seals??
OEM part number 92049-1066

Jack,
many thanks for your reply! Will stroll down to my local dealer and hopefully exchange wrong for right aided by your part number.
