Could anybody help me? I wonder how much oil and airpressure I need in the front forks on my 1982 Z 1000 LTD. I was told that it's a good idea to use a bit more oil instead of airpressure in forks. Do anyone know what's correct, I want to do the things right.

For a 1982 Z1000LTD-K the fork oil spec is 10w20 oil, with about 320cc when changing oil and 351cc +/- 4cc after disassembly and completely dry.Front fork air pressure 0.5kg/cm2.
Obviously adding more oil than the figures above will increase the air pressure in the fork,so only slight increases are advised.
Due to the age of the bike also check your free spring lengths.Short spring 130.5mm,Long spring 470mm.
The genuine Kawasaki Z1000/Z1100(GPZ)workshop manual has all the factory settings and specs for your bike.
