Pigford, send Jerry a personal message I think he can give you a club valuation for insurance purposes.

Pigford, you raise an interesting question. Who values these classic machines for insurance? With respect to Jerry, how would anyone become a value assessor on these Zeds? Surely it just a wild ass guess or an educated guess, based on previous purchases of similar machines?

The insurance companies don't mind, the higher the value the more the premiums. Then, when you have a claim they challenge the validity of the assessed value or possibly the credentials of the assessor!

I spoke with a guy, neigh a dick-head, at last years Stafford County Show who declared himself a valuation 'expert' for VJMC & he advises CN etc. I asked how much he though a DogsBolloxofaZ1B would be worth & he said................wait for it......................... ?5-6K max. I said "you gotta be furkin jokin" it would cost you at least that in labour and vastly more on NOS parts. I guess I'll find out when I come to sell it. LOL

don't know if you accurately value a Zed as price's are so high for good quality one's
as for calling the VJMC tosser's they are generally not a bad lot after all they are keeping classic Japanese bike's at the forefront of the vintage bike scene
they may have a different agenda than us as we specialise in the Zed mainly whereas they do all Jap make's

It was the local VJMC that organised the Ballymena show you were at Davy.

DogsbolloxofZ1B, the so called "expert" was probably hoping you had no idea of the real value and hoped to get it from you for nix. I can't blame him......beats being seen on a H**da :-)

Dont know much about the VJMC, however we shouldnt be knocking them they obviously have a place their membership speaks for its self. we dont all march to the beat of one drum thankfully.

I've got a clubs valuation letter from a few years ago which CN accepted wand states in certificate with no problem including ?500 worth of spare parts in garage which was never asked for. Premium for Z1a and Z750S is normally around ?250 for both living in Essex.
