I'd love to know too. I think they were also fitted to uni-traks, one on either side of the lower rails. :??

Absolutely nothing.

However I have seen them used to mount a jubilee clip to take oil cooler lines. :wink:

i would say it is for securing the bike on some sort of stand on the production line as many other + up to date bikes have them + not only kawasaki's

i got them on my gpz too, i thought they were lower mounts for engine guards?

Yes they are Accessorie mounts for engine bars, even the Septic has them :wink:

I think we have to find out if all ELR have them on both sides!
I would hazard a guess that the mounting brackets are for the fitting of a lower fairing.

The engine bars on these models were quite different in that they went all the way back to the carbs.
Does anyone have a picture with bars fitted?
