Any recommendations for an engine tuner near SW London?

#1 PostAuthor: LondonZ1 » Sun Mar 31, 2013 1:54 pm

My sanctuary replica is almost done and I need someone who can set the Z900 engine up for me. It has a 1015cc overbore, CR31 carbs, Dyna S ignition and unknown camshafts. It starts fine but will almost certainly need some skilled attention to get it running properly. I set up the timing statically and the carbs are as they came in the box.

I could ship it down to Debbens but they are a long way from London. Does anyone know a suitable engine specialist nearer to SW London?

thanks

have a word with Tony Huck at Maitland Racing or Rob at Mistral both know big kwaks. If not interested then they should be able to point you in the right direction.

There's Sean @ BigCC ... Wokingham....more into the latest machinery but still knows how to tune an engine.

Be a lot easier for someone with a Dyno to set up the CRs plus it would help if they had some jets and perhaps even needles.

I agree that it makes sense to use a firm with a dyno. On that basis PDQ look like the best bet as they have a dyno and are not too far away. I'll give them a call and see what they say. I've heard good things about Mistral but they are right over the other side of London.

engine tune

London Z1, bike looks the biz. I'd have a go myself but if I was you I'd take it to Ken Coopers shop in lower Feltham, it has a fully set up dyno in the back and Ken is a dab hand at tuning asperated engines, tell him Buzzard sent you, and it just down the road for you. Buzzard.
Every man should have a shed (for bikes obviously..)
