Z1000 Carbs

Been having a problem with the Z1000 carbs overflowing for a while - as some witnessed when I tried to set out for the Ace
Don't get much time between kids and work to sort it out - have taken them off a couple of times, cleaned them, floats working fine, floats valves in good order, put them back and although better, one of the bastards will still overflow.
Have taken them off again - what else can I try?
Also, where's the best place/price to get a set of 4 refurb kits?

hi beker, you need to check your service fuel level, it tells you how to in the z 1000 manual.

Becker,
One thing to try as I have just had the same problem on one of my zeds.
I had removed the float valves, mains, pilots etc & blown them out twice!!
Put them all back together & still one carb overflowed.
Off again,but this time I unscrewed the float valve seat & noticed inside where the valve seats & there was the smallest particle of scale.( it was no more than a millimetre and a few microns thick.
I removed this and problem no more.
Just one to eliminate before ya go spending a load of cash.

Check your floats are perfectly square on the tang, it only takes a very small twist and they can catch on the internal castings. It's a long shot but it happened to me and took ages to find.

Becker,
I've just had this problem of flooding. Mine was just a float sticking.
A member on here warned me to check my sump(oil) for petrol. He was spot on,petrol had made it into my oil.

Ok, taken apart the bottom of these carbs several times - blown them through etc - all looks to be working fine, but everytime one of them is still overflowing.
I've almost run out of patience with this - summer is passing me by. Also, I've got a load of other things I should be doing.
Reckon its time to give them to someone to refurb and set-up - have done a quick search but couldn't find anything - who's our recommended carb refurb/set-up expert not to far from Oxford?

Ay up Becker,
I went to see Kev at Projex in Cradley Heath a couple of weeks ago.
He refurbs carbs as well as setting them up.
Recommended.

Have they got the DODGY brass overflow pipe in the float bowl
If so they can split - causing a leak

How do you remove the overflow pipe from the float bowl as i have a couple leaking from between the pipe and the casting .

Do not think it is removable , just try to run some solder on the outside of the pipe
