How much to chrome a new 4:1 exhaust?

#1 PostAuthor: AndyZ1R » Thu Jul 25, 2013 9:45 pm

Hello all,

I`m thinking of buying a new exhaust, but it only comes in bare metal, it`s a 4 into 1 megaphone type similar to Vance and Hines, any guesstimate of how much to get it chromed? Also anywhere decent in the Surrey area to get it done? Thanks in advance!

have you thought of a stainless one from exhaustcraft a little bit more price wise but never have to replace it, freeing up more money for pies in the long term. :D
P.S a lot of platers won't entertain exhaust pipes even if new.

http://www.qualitychrome.co.uk/ in Hull will do exhausts.

I paid around 400/450 quid for my 4-1 doing though.....and it was not until a lot later I discovered they had polished the downpipes too thin making them useless. That was a used system though.
Why do I persist in debating with idiots ? I really should know better :)

Thanks for all your replies, i`m going to look into the cost of getting one made, as it`s only really different headers i want (Pro stock Spyder type), anyone in the Surrey area that could possibly do them?

There's a bloke that lives near the Brookwood lights that is a pipe bender for a living.
We got him to make up some tube for an AC Aceca i have been doing at work.

See what i can find out.

Yeah, i use the empty Bourbon packets as condoms once I've eaten all the biscuits. Glad to see you were touring the cottages looking for business, and flattered you chose my number!

Cheers Al, there should be some good stuff from the Ultimate Street Bike Re-Union, even Pete is going with his GSX. So it will be hopefully full of old Zeds, Katanas, GSX`s etc.....there no school like the old school, or something. :D
