There may be a genuine reason for the re-stamp????
As your bike is 25 years old,it's impossible to know what's happened in the past.
Kev your bike is built up from B1/B2 parts but may have been like that for many years and without contacting the previous owners you may never find out why and when this was done.

Well after a further clean up this morning, and a closer look it would appear that only the (1) has been overstamped, the rest all look original, so that would make the motor an ZX1100-A1.
I can't help thinking that there is too much "not right" with this bike, so I think I may well put it back up for sale again.
Thanks for all the help guys, I may well see you about.
Kev.
