Z1000 MkII Seat Cover

#1 PostAuthor: nicomkii » Sun Jan 04, 2015 6:01 am

Did the search and found some great info on seat covers, however nothing really specific to my model.
I sent an email to Phil at P&K seats who sent back he doesn't do either the seat cover or the foam, very difficult for this model he mentioned.
With that now gnawing at me, to go out and buy just any one of the number of covers available, wait the obligatory period to ship it down here, just to not be happy with the product is bit of a downer.
I was hoping some owners can give me their experience and nominate a top quality repro. I hear Doremi ones can be too short etc.
Cheers in advance.

If you wanna keep your original base this is the guy, repairs seats to concours all over the world, his web site is down for some reason.
Highly recommended in deed, but it's very time consuming = expensive.

The pattern on the seat is moulded so if you want it to look like original youll have to go with either PMC or Doremi as in Adrian's links above. PMC also sell the covers seperately for about £40. Not sure about Doremi.
TBH I was going to get a cover for mine but if it's only £90 for the complete assembly I'm going to get one. Or 2.

Thanks for the replies, was a bit of a minefield out there but looking at the PMC seat complete and the price which they state includes a 'steel' base I don't think you can go past it. The pattern looks ok in the little photos and the quality of PMC & Doremi in the past has been good so will take a stab.
If not completely happy I can still refurb my old base and keep looking for another cover.

Replica Seat.

#8 PostAuthor: Aztec Warrior » Sun Jan 11, 2015 8:14 pm

I have a replica seat fitted to my ST, from D&K Imports for about £90:00, as fitted by the previous owner to me. Complete base and seat unit are a perfect fit. Two hinges and the lock bracket fit well. And it's incredibly comfortable too.

Cheers
