Z1-R Clock Mounting Dampers**Solution Now Found + pics**

#1 PostAuthor: pertonpc » Mon Feb 16, 2015 8:02 pm

Hi People

Stripped my clock bracket today and the foams were knackered - bit like stale sponge cake but harder to scrape off

I have some foam I am planning to trim to shape - but does anyone know where I can get either of the foams from as a spare part :?:

Listed as item 6 & 9 on this diagram -

Image

part code is 92075-1050 large and 92075-1051 small

Also does anyone have any successful ways of doing this with a Z1-R bracket?

Not sure whether best results will be to stick a strip around top of clock then insert into bracket, or stick a strip round top inner face of bracket and drop the clock into it.

Anyone got any experience or pics of a home made set?

There is one on eBay at the moment - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/like/12153218 ... 0&ff14=108

Thanks for looking. From Mark

You could try Neoprene rubber strips selff adhesive - but would nt know what thickness or width you would need ?

Give Jimbo an Email at Redline, his stock is constantly changing and some times doesn't list the parts he has.

Do you need this bit? Scrowl down.

Cheers Neil,

Will put some pics up when I get them.

Have checked the meter harness today - all wiring seems fine.

Likewise for the ammeter and fuel gauge fuse unit.

So I can get the clocks rebuilt when your dampers arrive.

The new Z1-R silicon meter dampers have arrived now. Many thanks to Compo Z1-R who has made them for me.
They are a perfect fit for the standard bracket and even have a slot for the rolled edge of the bracket to go into. No sticky tape or glue needed

All these other dampers have to be fitted onto the bracket as well -

Here's what the rebuilt meter bracket looks like now.

I have done a test fitting back onto the bike to make sure I can find and refit all the right fasteners and components. It seems to make more sense now than when it was dismantled - because I have found out what all the pieces do and how they link together.
