Z1-R Gas Tank Vent Hose x 2 Correct Routing Pics Please ?

#1 PostAuthor: pertonpc » Sun May 10, 2015 9:27 am

Hi Fellas,

Can anyone with a factory standard Z1-R stick a few pics of how the vent tubes should be routed from the 13 litre low profile gas tank please ?

Or a good description if you have no pics.

One tube comes off the fuel gauge sender as a gas leak safety device

One comes off the front inner nearside of the tank to prevent the low profile 13 litre gas tank from overfilling etc. - cos the filler cap is recessed.

Both hoses will exit at the rear underside of the tank - but I need to see where they go from there.

My project bike did not come with this tank fitted so I need a steer if possible.

Larger touring tanks don't have the front tube - just the sender overflow pipe.

Thanks in advance.

The assembly and preparation manual part number 99939-1008-01 for the D1 shows the routing of drain hoses, from memory they go between rear of carbs and front of air box, one between boots 1 & 2 and the other between 3 & 4, then both exit with carb over flow hoses.

Just checked my D1 sales brochure, above correct, can just be seen in pics if you look closely. (l used a torch and magnified glass, bloody stupid Kawa using black background colour).

Parts book says 7 x 800 for fuel gauge and 9 x 900 for cap drain, suppose 7 and 9 are ID?

Have you got the moulded elbow that comes of the nipple on cap drain? and picks up the 9 x 900 hose.

52014-1001 elbow

2 X 92037-1058 clips

Yes I got the elbow and the clips are on their way to me now.

Thanks for the info on the routing.
