upgrading to twin front brakes this winter on my 1977 kz1000 a1.....
I think the master cylinder is standard 5/8 suitable for upgrading to twin discs, but cant see any markings on it.
is there any other way of confirming this....?
does anyone know for sure.....?

The 5/8 referred to, I think relates to 5/8th of an inch (16mm) internal bore size of the mastercylinder. The single disc m/c are 1/2 inch (12.5mm) internal bore diameter.

So there is 1/8th of an inch difference, which is about 4mm. You should be able to measure this even with a school ruler......

5/8" as colin says refers to the bore size which is the hole the piston goes into and not the piston diameter.
