worm gear probably has grooves in it where the seal has rubbed replace it. give the holder a coat of sealant before you put it back in the engine use a fibre washer from the z650 to seal between the cable & the tacho drive

Best thing to do is buy new seals a worm gear from Zed power cheap enough, anything else is just a temporary repair.

I have a similar problem on my Z1b and need to replace.

There were several options here on the forum and just wondered if sorted and if so which route you took john ?

There was a link for seals to the Sansei site although a z650 fibre washer was also advised?

Did you replace the worm drive also from Z power?

cheers
