Albion Street Motors/ Adrian Smeet Motorcycles

#1 PostAuthor: Bill Newman » Sun Mar 06, 2016 8:25 pm

I am tracing the history of my Rickman and have come across two dealer names associated with my bike: Albion Street Motors (which traded in the '70s) and Adrian Smeet Motorcycles (which must have been trading in the early '80s) but have no addresses or other details.

Does anyone know of these dealers?

Bill,
I had a play at work today on a website that hosts company records including dissolved and dormant ones.

Not sure if this is the right company but I found:-
Albion Street Motors (1978) Ltd
523 Barlow Moor Road
Chorlton-Cum-Hardy
Manchester
M21 2AQ
Incorporated 26/10/1978
Company number 01396163

No trace on Adrian Smeet Motorcycles?
Cheers
Dave

Re Albion Street Motors, Now a McDonalds on the corner of Cross Lane and Chapel Street, Salford.
I worked here in the late 70s, I was involved in the building of the Rickmans, we did a few in Red and around 4 in green.
I moved to Albion Street Motors 1978 Ltd, Radcliffe in late 78 . I think I might have sold keith his Z1R, If its the same chap he also had a Z650. As for Chorlton Cum Hardy, I this was just the banking address.
Hope this helps
Steve

Many companies use their accountants as the registered address which is what shows on companies house. The trading address is the errr trading adress.
