I have the workshop tool and that does'nt work either the best piece of kit is a Gator grip socket on a long extension bar.
Works every time.

Ther is nowt to grip on nut or hex inlet perfectly round, tapered broom handle worked for the one but had to make a tool out of a piece of square m steel stock tapered and spanked in to the rod, needed a rattle gun as well, found the tool kwak used on a j manual tools sheet ,look like the tip off an old gas heated soldering iron! Thanks for ideas!

Made my own tool only a few weeks back from an M12 nut (19mm hex) welded to a length of 1/2" gas pipe.
