Z900 motor into a J

#1 PostAuthor: Coose » Mon May 23, 2016 5:47 pm

Evening all,

As per the subject above, has anyone done this and if so did you find any real issues related to mounting positions and spacing, or anything else?

Cheers in advance,
Coose

Looking at photos of the motor and also my bike it might just miss the swinging arm, but it's a might....

Very true. The J motor that's in there already fits well of course, but I'm considering Gary's Unitrak/Z900 hybrid motor and would ideally need to drop it in before the end of July before I head to Germany for a week. My motor could do with a rebuild yersee!

The plan long-term would be to rebuild it into J or similar cases and sell on the 900 cases, so it would only be a temporary installation.

ive fitted the motors the other way around and there was a space at the back of the motor were I put a catch tank to hide it ,2 mounts at the front on the j ,1 on the 900 ,best bet would be to swap the cases on the motor ,

I don't think it will without mods.

Check my project out Z1000 A2 engine in GPZ1100 UT frame.
