ZRX forks

#1 PostAuthor: RUDDY » Wed Jun 15, 2016 7:09 pm

Guys, is there a difference between ZRX1100 and ZRX1200 forks ?

I'm sure I read that the earlier forks can be modified, re-valved maybe ? , whereas the later forks cannot.

Are the wheel spindles and fork bottoms the same ?

Cheers

They will interchange as a complete set, but they are different. As are early (pre 2003) and later ZRX1200 forks
Why do I persist in debating with idiots ? I really should know better :)

Cheers guys, I have a set of 2004 ZRX1200 yokes so I guess if I use them I'll need later type 1200 forks as 1100 ones won't fit ?

They all use 43mm stanchions.

K-Tech inners cannot be fitted to post 03 bikes as they are basically sealed cartridge forks. Apparently the bottom of the cartridge is peened over so it cannot be removed

The 12's have built in stone shields as part of the dust cover, the 11's don't.

Fork bottoms are similar and will use the same calipers, mudguards will interchange.

Is it just the legs you want ? I should have a spare set of ZRX1200 (02) fork legs somewhere. I also have some 6 pot Tokico calipers that are fitted as standard. (I have fitted Brembo's on my 12).

If they are of any interest, I will fish 'em out and send you some photos.
