So started bike this morning and all good but i can tell something still not right. I've carried our all the tests but this is what i find

No 2 exhaust pops and has a heavier thump than all other 3 which feel good.

Exhaust No 2 at the manifold is considerably cooler than all others.

any ideas?

While it's ticking over pull number 2 plug cap off the plug so it's not clipped on but resting on it. Then lift it off very slightly but still with the plug inside the cap. See if it starts to fire and the pipe gets warm . Once it's run for a minute push it fully back on.

Ok I'll give it a go. What I did do was

Pulled the black nipple cover off the rubber manifold on each carb and all responded except number 2 had no effect at all.

So wound the air screw all the way I an all the way out on no 2 carb and nothing changed.

All other carbs responded.

Could be a lazy plug. Some of mine often do it. My zrx does it on number 1 if it's stood for a month or so. My z1b does it on number 2 if it's been left for a few days. once the plug has warmed up its fine.

"A lazy plug".

Is that a plug that just lies in bed all day???

Like a "Jeremy Kyle type" spark plug???

Had the same thing a week or so ago on my Z1R, swapped plugs around and hey presto, cleared, :D having said that, I have had a few plugs complete failures on my z250, for some reason they just die, when tested they show a short to the main body? NGK originals as well, very strange.

It was the plug! Took it out and it was wet with petrol. Dried it, cleaned it, checked for spark before and nothing but after good.

Put back in and much better!

If I ever have plug problems its always with NGK's. Swopped all bikes to Denso's and plug issues never happen now.
NGK's, even the kosher ones, seem to be going down hill over the past few years. probably driven by the pressure to increase profit by reducing quality.
