Z1 B running to rich

#1 PostAuthor: john » Fri Sep 30, 2016 12:55 pm

Hi Lads
I have a Z1 B 900 with Z 1000 Carburetors, I recently installed four new carburetor rebuild kits which were after market and not very good quality, due to this way to much petrol was been dumped into the cylinders an the bike was floating, I have replaced the new kits with the original parts that were in the carburetors. . the float heights are correct. now its running far to rich , could it be that I did not put the Float Needle Valve Assembly back were they were and they are not seated?. although the bike is running better with the original parts , when you stop it after a short spin and take the vacuum caps off they are full of petrol. is this correct? should I drop the needles down a clip?

Any advise much appreciated
Thank you John

Needles (in slides) will have no effect on carbs flooding when engine turned off.
And on the 7th day... Zeds were created!
