Z1000j fork cap

#1 PostAuthor: Robw » Sat Oct 22, 2016 7:18 pm

I am after changing the standard fork caps with the air valves in them to a more conventional bolt style. Does anyone know which ones I can replace them with. The unitrack look like they have the same thread.

Hi Rob, the 1100 unitrac forks are 37mm diameter, the gpz b2 has 38mm forks which is the same as the J I believe, these use a 1/2 inch square drive to get them in and out and arent too pretty, you never see them on the b2 because the handlebar clamp bolts screw in above them.

Cheers for the info, I might have a punt at those adjusters as for a £5, it's worth a look.

Martin, cheers for the info.
Al, the thread diameter is not correct, our forks thread diameter is approx 31mm, so it will be to big.
I am still waiting for the Racetech emulator and springs, so I will hang on until I run out of patience, which will be Christmas time and then I will look at those made in New Zealand, by Steve Wynne.

Are they out of stock in the UK?
You can borrow mine 'till April if it helps to get it all set up. They are out at the minute anyway.

Hi Al, thanks for tbe kind offer. I am in no rush as like you the bike isn't going anywhere until next year. Got a new engine which is a a2 unitrac, so will be putting a 1260 kit on it, although it won't be ready until late next year.
