I used this guy, just down the road in Swansea, did a great job on a set of 29mm smoothbores that where in poor condition.

Are these the early version that had the ceramic slides?
If they are and they let go in service which i believe they were prone to do it may be more cost effective to buy new.
I dont think the new slide version is backward compatible and the ceramic version having been superseded is NLA.
Might be worth a look with a suspicious eye and a magnifying glass to confirm before you splash out on refurb.

Not good news. What carbs are suitable for a 1327cc big block and 435 lift cams with a big valve head, for road use?

CR for the period look, FCR if you want to 'go large' and more technical, and if i was being partisan i would vote for 36mm RS (as you have now) with 140 mains, 142.5 if it runs a wee bit hot..

What are your existing slides made of??
