Guys,

Having fun and games with the zed. Which may lead to a full engine rebuild.

If this comes true I'm thinking of getting the engine vapour blasted back to original bear metal silver.

What is the going rate now to get this done.

Haven't used them myself and costs are on a link, but closer to home and I've heard good thing about this outfit: http://cbxvapourblasting.co.uk/index.html - probably worth a call.

Cheers

If you are going back to bare metal you might as well have it ceramic cleaned - the effect is to close the surface of the aluminium to give a sheen which lasts much longer than a bare vapour clean. My Z900 was done in February 2012 and looks as good today, 7000 miles later. And unlike GarryL (who is a polishing god :D :D) I hardly clean mine - yet it comes up really well.

Highly recommended.

You are out of my area but I have a part time set up doing vapour blasting , I also work in a m/c repair shop . My rates for v b are £40 / hr which is the best way to price work as your engine may have had an easy well cared for life and the next may have been in a wet barn for 20 years . Look at my website for an idea and Facebook page if you do FB
