Can anyone recommend somewhere to supply a good quality but reasonably priced full rebuild kit for front and rear calipers on a z1000 ?
I see a company called powerhouse selling full kits on eBay with stainless pistons at much cheaper overall than zpower.....anyone bought one of these kits and if so are they any good ?

Personally I hope I am never in the position of having to put cheap caliper repair kits to the test

Hence why I'm asking for feedback.....as stated I want good quality but id be an absolute fool to assume that the highest priced ones are the best quality

I've done several Z and H calipers with the seals from Z Power without problem but that was always using the original piston.

MikeP,

Maybe you can just try them and let us know how you get on?

Was looking at these meself, it does say We only sell quality OEM specification seals sourced through the UK's main wholesale channels, not cheap Taiwanese or Chinese imports, with stainless pistons, should be better than original,as every one i have taken out is always pitted...

It looks like they are sourcing the components and assembling the kits under their own Brakemasters brand. If their products live up to their marketing they should do well.

Knowing UK wholesalers as I do, it seems a bold claim to say that components sourced through them do not originate in Taiwan or China. Not that that is necessarily a bad thing if the quality control is good.

A bit late to the discussion, but I used Powerhouse kits to refurb the GSXR master cylinder & calipers on my 750 special - seals/pistons, the lot.

The quality of all components were fine, the rebuilt system works well with no leaks or fade even after a track day at Cadwell. I had a problem with the master cylinder (my issue, not theirs) and found them helpful when I spoke to them on the phone.

Mark.

I rebuilt my Z1B calipers using their kit, inc stainless pistons.

No issues or leaks. Only difference from originals was the rubber was a bit thinner on the slide bolt seals.

I have spoken to the owner of the company this morning. Nice guy and very knowledgable about the products he is selling.

WEMOTO supply good quality British made ( Rhino ) Stainless Steel piston replacement kits inc all seals and boots ...... can't remember how much but a VERY fare price. I used them and found them to be excellent although i did polish them a little further by using 1200 wet & dry with WD-40 ( I held them internally by the chuck jaws on a lathe to spin & polish em ) and in all honesty I doubt that was needed .....just me being a bit picky ! Cheers.
