Hello,

I have one question for you expert.
I want to restore my front brake master cylinder of my Z1900b, 1975.
The colour is now a sort of violet.

I believe in origin was black.
I would like t know if it was anodized or painted.
Which was the finishing? Glossy, semiglossy or opaque.

I did read a lot of threats and it seems to be very difficult to remove the plastic reservoir without damaging it
Any suggestion?

They plastic reservoir will come off but some are more difficult to remove than others. You will need one of those leather strap wrenches that can wrap around the plastic.
The metal part can be re-anodised but I have never seen a re-anodised one come out particularly well. Painting it satin black looks better.

I am trying to anodize.
I know the guy who is anodizing stuff for Rizoma and he is working very well.

Mikey helped me get mine anodised with fantastic results.

I'm not certain if it's threaded or a push interference fit with an O ring ! ............but either way, sit the Alloy body " only " upright in water thats just off the boil ...let it sit for 2 minutes "no more " then pull it out - wrap it in cloth & grip it in soft vice jaws & then use a soft strap wrench in a anti clockwise direction ....it should with any luck then come apart then.
