Did i read somewhere that the Uni 1100 / 1100R oil pump has a higher flow rate or pressure than the earlier J pumps?
The castings and body size look identical side by side with the only obvious difference being the pressure relief valve fitted to the Uni pump shown here at the top.

It's a myth.
All the big Zed pumps are more or less identical and deliver exactly the same flow rate and pressure.
The only advantage of using a later pump is that it may have less wear on it.
