Here goes with the first question.
When I collected the bike I was given a swinging arm as the bike had a box section arm fitted.
Have noticed today that there is no grease niple or date stamp ?
Is this off something else or could it still be the original

??
Thanks for any help as I would like to sort before painting.

Not really much help but 650's stopped having a grease nipple in about 81, if using the same thinking, all 900's should have them as the latest would be 76 poss reg'd in 77? Z1, Z1A, Z1B & A4's show them as having them in the parts catalogue.

if you remove the sleeve you should be able to see if it ever had a grease nipple as you will see the threaded hole. it looks like it has been welded over ?

Just had a quick look.
The swinging arm has a needle bearing each side with a sleeve that is held between the two bearings.
There is then an inner sleeve that runs the full width of the swinging arm inside the bearings.
So I guess in this guise the grease could not go anywhere even if there was a grease nipple ?

The arm is packed with grease between the inner and outer sleeve.

With duty and tax around £250. Still not too bad and should be solid coming from the States

Just spent a couple of hours in my garage fitting the swinging arm.
Removed the box section one and fitted the swinging arm that I got with the bike, all went well..
Suddenly OMG
The wheel axle does not fit into the swinging arm slots
Well you have too
Axle 20mm, slots 17mm
Thank you all for your help, I will order a replacement from the US immediately
