when changing the plugs today the inner contact on 2 of my taylor leads broke away staying on the top of the plug whilst removing ht cap.
is fitting plug caps an option with taylors if i chop the molded plug cap off.
better still anybody got a pair of yellow taylor leads or a full set in any colour.

Re: taylor ign leads
You can replace the metal ends that pulled off. A decent motor spares shop should have them. I used to have access to dozens of the damned things when I used to make up HT leads at a BL garage in the late 70's and early 80's lol.
I can see there are some on Ebay too HERE
You cn also easily adapt something from kits like THESE or THESE As long as they have silicon cores like Taylor leads do the performance will be the same. Name aside, there is almost no difference, they are just 50 quid a chuck cheaper

Why do I persist in debating with idiots ? I really should know better

Do NOT put resistorised NGK plug caps on, it will NOT run.

Re: taylor ign leads
ok so resistor plug caps are out. but why would it not run?

Re: taylor ign leads
The high voltage output can't get through the resistors.
If you don't believe me, give it a try and I guarantee it will run like a bag of shit.

Re: taylor ign leads
Each to their own, but i have never understood why so many pay so much for fancy pants leads when the copper does the same job the only time i would change is if they started make silver cored leads.
Re: taylor ign leads
well I have bitten the bullet and ordered a new set. I looked at the dyna leads but they don't look as good as the taylors. I know, I know they do the same job as taylors and are half the price of taylors. but they don't look as good, I guess its a vanity thing! lol

Re: taylor ign leads
The Dyna caps, although not as attractive as the Taylors are better-insulated than the Taylor caps, which seem to split after a while.
