Hi all,
Above not working on z1a .The bulb is ok , the switch seems ok when it was removed .There's plenty of oil pressure. Any clues
Thanks

It is most likely to be either the wiring within the warning lights, or the oil pressure switch. If not then check earths, and wiring for continuity.

Touch the wire from the switch to the engine block with ignition on,if the lamp goes out you have a faulty switch or lack of oil pressure, low oil, faulty pump ,blocked oil pump filter etc

Is it not the other way around Paul, the switch is in the earth return from the bulb meaning earthing the wire will light the bulb. If this happens you know you have a faulty switch. If the bulb stays out you have a loom bulb issue.

Definitely that way round on J engines - you find these things out when you make your own wiring loom.

Thanks for the replies. Touched the wire from the switch to the block and the oil pressure light comes on . Must be a stuffed switch .
Cheers

Well that's a nice easy fix and a good bit of info regarding how the switch works on the J motors etc.which by the sounds of it not a lot of us knew that!
Thanks
