z900 seat foam

#1 PostAuthor: Ultim8pc » Wed Jun 28, 2017 12:34 pm

My z900a4 has and Ltd seat fitted. The seat base is in fantastic condition but the foam is not good enough for re-use if I reshaped it. So I am going to recover it with a standard z900 cover, but need a suitable new foam.
Anyone know of anywhere in the UK that sells them?-Haven't seen any on eBay, Z-power Saisei etc...

Thanks
I am assuming that the z1000a foam will do?

It just depends on what cover you use. If you are keeping the LTD cover you will need the LTD foam to match. If you are going to buy a Z1000 cover you might be better of getting a full ready made seat.

I'm planning to use my existing base, fit a standard z900 foam and cover. (Although I didn't make that massively clear in my original post - now edited).
Yes, I could purchase a complete seat, but it'd be less original than re-using the base I have.

I have added a range of seat covers for Z1 - Z1000R. I can offer a foam and cover bundle for £170 by request. (Need to figure out how to do it on my website).

My Z1B came with an ltd seat unit.

When I tried the base against a standard foam & cover it would not fit right.
Be prepared to do some modding to the base to get it to fit right.
Can't remember the exact issue but I ended up down the new seat unit route because of it.

Perton - I was lead to believe the bases were identical. I have a PMC low seat I can compare with..
Thanks for the heads up

By way of an update. I've actually bought another complete z900. The cover is non-standard and the base is a little tatty. Hoping to re-use the foam from it on mine. I'll then clean and repaint the remaining base to use on another project or sell.
