Old oil cooler fittings ? Advice please.

]I have just removed the carbs from my 'KZ1000 A2' for a bit of an overhaul and found this pipe attached to the oil pressure switch housing.
Am I correct in assuming that this is where an oil cooler was one plumbed in and when removed they just looped this piece of pipe between the outlet and inlet.
I don't really want a dirty old piece of hose under there , risk of splitting ect , and was wondering if I could take it off ,unscrew the unions and replace them with a couple of blanking plugs ? .

simple answer is NO !!!

You would need to housing for the oil pressure switch and to link the 2 outlets.

otherwise the oil from the pump will not get to the head.

someone who wants to fit an oil cooler may be willing to swap but leave 'as-is' until then - or post a 'wanted' advert.

I have a few very good pressure switches ready to fit ( with either screw or bullet connector for the oil light feed wire ) and would do a straight up trade for one if that helps..

chrisu , Thanks very much for the quick reply. I took a closer look after your advice and can see what you mean , the pipe is doing externally what the standard oil pressure switch housing does internally.

zed1015 , thanks for the offer but I have got one ordered and on it's way.
