Battery choice

#1 PostAuthor: DavidZ1R » Thu Jul 27, 2017 5:26 pm

I put a temporary battery on my z1000a1, surprised every thing worked fine, so looking to put a new battery on, should I stick to the yuasa, go for an enduro , or what is the favoured opinion, what should I avoid. Cheers

I've just put one of these Yuasa gel batteries on my Z1B. Not quite as powerful as a motobatt, but identical in size to the original Yuasa, no maintenance, no acid to drip on my expensive exhausts and it's not YELLOW !!

Decent price from Halfords as well....

I like Motobatt. Always fires up first prod of the starter....... (ok, might be helped by Dyna ignition, Dyna Coils, Taylor leads, Iridium plugs, new switchgear and loom...)

do not let a motobatt run completely flat - it will bugger it.

don't ask me how i know.

Word of warning..... when you lay the bike up over winter, DON'T USE A normal battery charger... will fry the battery.. motobatt do a trickle charger called baby boy, and there about £20 quid.. & there yellow too.. 70amps cranking power..
