Oil burn

#1 PostAuthor: jonhunt » Mon Aug 28, 2017 5:47 pm

I get a short burst of black smoke as I accelerate. I think this is a sign that the valve stem seal are less than efficient. They are probably the originals so no surprise. Doesn't smoke at steady speed or idle

Black smoke is usually associated with unburnt fuel, oil is normally blue, I would look at fuelling.

Thanks Chris

The carbs initially p?&@ed fuel out from the T joints after the first petrol fill. That's stopped now. Fuel consumption seems high. Other than that she seems to run well. I'll take her round my mates and see what he thinks
