Re: New Chain & Sprockets
Don't think it matters as long as it's a well known brand, I went for a 530 conversion from debbens performance

Re: New Chain & Sprockets
Thanks I’ll do the same. Did you keep the original swing arm?

Re: New Chain & Sprockets
Alfacity, as Floydez1 suggests, 530 chain is the way to go, withy equivalent sprocket.

no change other than sprockets and depending the bike maybe a spacer. it'll be in the bike specific kit.
check Debben, Zpower and Saisei to compare prices - all do them i think. I got mine from Saisei

Re: New Chain & Sprockets
To convert to 530 just multiply original teeth and chain links by 1.2 and go for the nearest
So for Z900....
Front 15T x 1.2 = 18T
Rear 33T x 1.2 = 39.6T
Chain 92 x 1.2 = 110.4
Experience has shown that a 40T rear and 110 chain is a bit tight so 112 works better. It is easier to remove a couple of links later if it wont adjust up.
There are loads of good heavy duty x ring chains about these days.

Do you do kits Dave?

Yes but I am waiting for the special rear sprockets
Re: New Chain & Sprockets
You may find a slight problem... That is on the front sprocket (18t) there is often, no locking washer hole, You may have to fashion something to lock the sprocket. There is two threaded holes on some front sprockets, it just requires a bit of sheet metal work to make the lock washer.

This used to be a problem however PMC make the correct front sprockets now. 530 Rear sprockets for 77 on wards are freely available however Z1 - Z900 are a special.
Before anyone jumps on their "High horse" this is information and not a sales pitch. You know who you are
