With apologies to garyd for hijacking your post.
So gentlemen, what d’ya reckon ? Is this a proper Z900 kickstand or a ltd one ? And is it bent, or is it suppose to be slightly curved back like that ?
Cheers
Paul

It's massively bent. I am amazed the bike will even stand up leaning on that !!!
Why do I persist in debating with idiots ? I really should know better :)

I’ve ordered another one which should be here on Thursday with a bit of luck. Hopefully that’ll sort the issue out.
We’ll see !

My 900 one is curved like the one in the pics, my 1000 one is straight. Looks like op may have a 900 one on his 1000?

Hi - Back to exhausts... has anyone tried a Marving on their Zed? I was considering what to put on my rebuild Z1000A2 and I quite like the look of these
Present
Red '78 KZ - rebuilt from engine up
Other wheels - Couple of old Guzzi's
Past 1994 - 2010
Luminous Green '78 KZ import [BLE 656S]

Bit of an update. The new one pitched up today. It’s exactly the same shape as the existing one. It also whacks against the frame when it goes back. Weird ! Guess My only option is to try and make something to stop it from going back so far. Still doesn’t explain why it’s doing that though when apparently it shouldn’t.

I had a Z1B with a 4 -1 and the side stand hit the frame on it. Fitted a rubber mounted clamp holding a 1975 "Tax Disc" to prevent the clanking !

You could tap out a 6mm hole in either the stand bracket or if possible the stand itself and fit a grubscrew and lock nut to limit the closed position of the stand.

Funilly enough I’ve just come back in from the garage having done exactly that wheelsteve. I drilled and tapped a hole in the stand and it works a treat !
