Head Studs

Okay, new project on the go, stripped the motor so I can get the cases cleaned and all was well until it came to removing the head studs, tried two nuts on them etc but they ain't for budging and I don't what to bugger up anything.
Anyone got any ideas?
Incidentally, as with the last one I did, the motor is almost as new inside, I reckon you'd have to take one of these out and shoot it to kill it!.

No point in removing them unless they are being replaced by HD ones or NOS in which case it doesn't matter if they get destroyed.
I used a Britool cam type stud extractor to wind them out and I place it as close to the bottom of the stud as possible to prevent the stud twisting and snapping.
It does leave deep knurl marks on the studs but I never re-use them once removed.
If you want to protect the studs plating from the blasting media (if they are not already rusty) the simply mask them off with some rubber tubing.

The cases are going to Steve Smethurst for Ceramic cleaning so the studs have to come out, doesn't matter if I wreck the studs so long as the cases are okay

You need to use an extractor as described that grips the stud close to the crankcase .
Using 2 nuts risks snapping the studs.

I too am in Shropshire (nr Whitchurch).
If you can get the motor over to me I'll remove them for you with my heavy duty extractor.
Just removed a full set from the TC.
