Can anyone advise on what to look for when inspecting the top cam chain tensioner for wear.
Engine in bits at present and just inspecting various parts. The tensioner itself doesn't look damaged to me, it spins freely, has all the teeth, very slight play side to side but nothing to loose. I take it the rubbers the replaeable, but they are exspensive and i don't want to buy new when there is no need.. Cheers, Paul

Re: Top camchain tensioner
Paul, Rubbers are definitely available. If the idlers, top and middle are original the inner rubbers that house the bearings are known to fail and will need close examination. Many tend to replace with solid Liska/Ape type for this reason.
Re: Top camchain tensioner
Ok, thanks for that. Might just play safe and renew them both.
Re: Top camchain tensioner
