Carb Cleaner....

#1 PostAuthor: Garry.L » Sun Oct 15, 2017 7:28 pm

Short of an Ultrasonic bath what would be the best Product/Solution to soak a set of shitty carbs in?.

TIA.

Garry, if you have disassembled the carbs, get them vapour cleaned then use a cleaner in the ultrasonic cleaner, if I remember ginger bear knows the name of the stuff, buggered if I can remember the name of the stuff

Cheers David.

I might take you up on the offer of the bath. The carbs on the Triple are full of all kinds of shite.

I'll let you know.

Garry.
I have an ultrasonic bath that will take all three in one go, and I have the magic cleaning fluid to go with it!
Pop round with them, you're welcome to stick them in for a clean no problem.

An old boy down the road from me made his own cleaning bath with a big placcy storage box and 2 orbital sanders strapped onto the sides. his cleaning solution is hot water and fairy.
The results are good for a heath robinson contraption made from old junk off e-bay.

After a trip down to Darkest Shropshire to see Will B and his Molly Turbo rebuild (Very Nice) my carbs are now lovely and clean after a nice dip in his Ultrasonic Bath. After I polished up the brass bits and evened up the tone with a little R&B they now look fab....

Cheers Will and thanks for all the offers Guys.
