James Bell wrote:Hi folks , just bought a 1979 Z1000 , and will be embarking on a full overhaul and would appreciate if any members could recommend a good engine cleaning company ( vapour blasting and polishing ) the results from this process look impressive , also the Carbs could benefit from an overhaul and similar cleaning .
Cheers
James

Another option -
Just had a set of Z1a Carbs restored by Dave Mudie (Z1DAVE).
Lovely job at a very reasonable cost :)

Let the build begin..........
I know Steve Smethurst does an excellent job, but just sometimes you find a local guy by accident who does an excellent job at half the price.
Just got these back the other day and couldn't be happier. Virtuall blast free and super smooth, and considering what they were like at the begining???????.
First attempt at a big Zed, so ill take my time and plenty of questions to ask.

no matter who cleans the engine cases flush it bottle brush oilways and repeat several times. one blockage in an oilway will cost thousands..
